The Rio Grande Agricultural Land Trust is committed to community-based conservation in New Mexico’s Middle Rio Grande Valley.
We bring together diverse community partners to protect agricultural land and water for people and wildlife in New Mexico’s most populated and threatened area, the Middle Rio Grande Valley. This area is threatened by urban expansion and loss of water rights. We work with over 100 partners to protect wildlife habitat, local food production, outdoor recreation opportunities, and open space in both urban and rural agricultural landscapes.
When you donate to RGALT, you help us do agricultural land conservation in this region where landowners are often land rich and cash poor. While many of our agricultural landowner partners are interested in protecting their lands for future generations, they often do not have the financial resources necessary to do so. Your donation helps us work with these community members to achieve conservation in some of New Mexico’s most precious agricultural landscape.
